Summary:
As an RN, you can direct and lead a team of LPNs and CNAs dedicated to helping others recover from medical procedures. Work directly with attending physicians ensuring that health care directives are carried out properly. As a Registered Nurse, you are also the trusted confidant of the patient and their families.
Reports To: Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor that works at the facility
Supervises: Teams of CNAs and LPNs
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Ensure patient health care records are maintained and accurate
- Administer medications to patients based on conditions and symptoms
- Order clinical and medical diagnostic exams and tests
- Take patient vital signs
- Record patient medical history
- Evaluate and manage patient care plans
- Work with other nurses and medical professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Counsel patients and family members on disease prevention and health maintenance
- Take vital signs and start IVs for patients
- Interpret diagnostic exams and tests to identify patient conditions
- Supervise the work of licensed practical nurses, nursing aides and assistants
- Guarantee patient confidentiality is respected and kept intact
- Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment
- Ensure all medical equipment used is up-to-date and functions properly
- Document all actions and any irregularities so that other nursing teams are aware of the current state of the patient
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients
